6 Fall 2023 fashion trends to follow
What trends should you follow this fall? This year's runways were filled with interesting shapes, vibrant colors, while new versions of the ultimate classics were created. Moreover, many designers decided to use summer fabrics and silhouettes, others preferred heavy layering. Here you will find the top six fall fashion trends, in order to start shopping and wearing clothes that are in fashion.
1. Rich red
This season's ultimate color is rich red. Almost every collection had an outfit featuring this specific shade, that draws attention thanks to its boldness. Specifically, designers like Stella McCartney chose to present monochromatic outfits in rich red. It's time to say goodbye to Barbiecore and pink and welcome its fiercer version, rich red.
2. Sweater dresses
While sweater dresses are known for going in and out of fashion, it looks like this season we will be seeing them everywhere. Both oversized and curve-hugging designs were presented, while fashion houses like Isabel Marant used cable knit, but created new silhouettes in order to elevate their sweater dresses. Furthermore, designers styled the dresses with leggings, belts and scarves.
3. Maxi skirts
Although mini skirts don't stop getting shorter, maxi skirts filled this years runways. Fashion brands presented the dramatic skirts with various cuts, different silhouettes and color schemes. For example, Prada showed tea-length skirts with flounce, while Dior went for vibrant colors, prints and movement.
4. Off the shoulders This season, off the shoulder silhouettes made a big comeback in the fashion world. Many designers like Tory Burch kept their pieces simple and monochromatic, making the designs more wearable. On the other hand, others like Carolina Herrera added more elements like puffy sleeves, prints and vibrant colors. (An off the shoulder look might not be the best choice for the colder days of autumn, so just in case you can always carry a jacket or a scarf in your bag).
5. Butter yellow
Another color that has been seen on the runway is butter yellow. This specific shade is a soft color with a little more pop, that can brighten every all outfit. Fashion houses like Givenchy and Prada featured the creamy shade on sweaters, dresses, tops and shoes. This neutral color is a great alternative to the basic pastels.
6. Preppy shoes
The last fall trend you should follow is wearing preppy footwear. From classic ballet flats to modern loafers to Mary Janes, preppy shoes are in fashion this season. You could always pair them with preppy clothes like skirts, well tailored suits, polo t-shirts and dresses, while styling them with oversized clothes, cargos and leather jackets is a new trend. Moreover, mixing up two opposite aesthetics like preppy and street style is something fresh.
